Tampa's modern and efficient general cargo terminal facilities, include 1 million square feet of warehouse space, 80 acres of laydown area and 8500 feet of dock length.
With a channel depth of 43 feet, on-dock rail service, a mobile harbor crane with 100 ton lift capacity, an experienced and efficient labor force, the Port of Tampa handles practically every type of general cargo imaginable.
As Florida's largest steel port, Tampa has developed into a major steel processing and distribution center with products ranging from pipe, coils and wire rod to scrap. Automobiles, as well as high and heavy construction equipment are handled at dedicated terminal facilities.
Forest products, project cargoes and heavy-lift pieces are among the Port's specialties.
